Welcome to our Archives!  That page was getting a little slow in loading so we're splitting it up so that the people that keep up with us regularly don't have to wait so long to hear about our adventures!!

Week 10

Tuesday    Mom and Aunt K had dinner tonight and said that when the time changes this weekend we'll go more often again because the walks will get shorter as it gets hotter.    Baxter and I are getting along better but he's such a mooch, has to be in the middle of everything and get all the attention.  Mom is really good about making sure I get my fair share though.

Sunday    It was 90+ degrees out today and Bubba Baxter doesn't like the heat...he spent most of the afternoon getting the top pool step dirty because he'd lay in the water then go lay by Mom where she was planting and get muddy...DUMB DOG!   Mom got so tired of hearing him pant that she turned the a/c on...ahhhhhh coolness...LardButt is good for something after all.

Saturday    Weigh in day!  Baxter is now 107 lbs!!  12 more to go Mom thinks...but we won't tell HIM that!   I'm 94 lbs so Mom is really happy with me!!  So we're still eating green beans and pumpkin although Mom did sneak a couple extra pieces of kibble in my bowl tonight!  I WUV MY MOMMY!!

Friday    Sorry for not writing more but Mom's been really busy at work...something about Congress and ID theft...whatever it is it's making her grouchy.    Baxter dumped Mom in the pool...in a silk shirt, dress slacks and heels...she was waiting for Tom and decided to clean a couple pieces of grass out of the pool when Baxter went after a lizard and bumped her right into the pool...good thing the heat was on.  She was ticked...  One of my friends suggested that Baxter was trying to tell her she had too much perfume on...nah, he's just not that bright.  Mom calls me her angel and I can't print what she usually calls Baxter but it sort of sounds like his name with a 'D' on the end...hee hee hee...either that or it's BaxterNO!  He doesn't get called Baxter much...Mom says, "it's a good thing he's adorable, otherwise..."  The little kissup actually bats his eyelashes at her when he knows he's just cooked his own goose...never fails to crack her up and he gets away with a scolding...hmmmph if that was MY pup he'd have gotten some teeth in his scruff and a good shake.

Wednesday    Happy Birthday Mom!!  Tom cooked dinner that night, her favorite 'lobsters'.  We didn't get any of it either, although he did sneak us some popcorn when Mom wasn't looking a couple times during movie night.  We were extra specially nice to Mom that night...sat REAL close to her while she was eating...

Week 7

Mom took us to the beach this weekend, wow was it fun!  Cold but we got to meet sooo many other dogs there.  Thanks Aunt Cyndi for telling her about Jupiter Beach!

We had such a great time swimming, chasing tenny balls and meeting people that we slept all the way home, I was whupped...had to sleep on the futon that night because Mom had the couch and Baxter had the chair...I gave her a dirty look as I got up on the couch and just DARED her to say something, she behaved though...even if she DID take a picture of me...not fair.

Week 4

Monday        Aunt Keri was down on business so she came over to pal around with us on Monday night and went for a walk with us.  Baxter was up to his usual tricks, I wish he'd just leave those ducks alone...and just walk like I do.  I'll be walking along behaving myself and then all of a sudden get jerked back because Mr. Nosy has to stop and smell something, that's annoying!  Mom's usually good about warning me but a couple times....she hasn't been paying attention.

Tuesday                No walk, tonight.  Mom is out with vendors and usually when she gets home from dinner with them she's too tired to play.

Wednesday        Walk night!  Whoohooo!  It was a little warm but we did the whole 5 miles. Boy were we tired...Baxter couldn't even make it up on the bed...he slept on the floor til sometime in the middle of the night and then came up.

Thursday         Aunt K joined us for a walk tonight...she was a little jumpy though....kept looking over her shoulder and then scared Mom half to death when she gave a little scream.  So then Mom turned around and there was this guy right there so Mom screamed...we didn't know what the heck was happening cause we had already passed this guy once and he didn't smell bad...so we just kinda stood there.  Mom was really embarrassed and apologized to the guy and then she gave Aunt K crap all the way home.

Friday        No walk, Mom had to work late so Aunt K came over to feed us and let us out in the yard.  Mom got home later and then we snuggled.

Saturday    We helped Mom cook breakfast and then tried to help her with the dishes...Lard Butt got in trouble cause she caught him with his whole head in the dishwasher...I'm not sure whether he was in trouble more for that or the fact that she couldn't get a picture of him....we went for our walk early because it looked like it was going to rain.  We had such a good time that we went about another half mile further!  Almost to the vets office.  I think Mom is going to walk us down there next Saturday so no car ride.  BUMMER!  Mom went to the movies so we crashed on the furniture...so tired that when she and Tom got back that we didn't hear them pull up and were busted big time when they walked in the door...

Sunday        Uncle Bob came by to meet Baxter.  Lard Butt tried to get into his lap...that dog ain't got no couth.  Then he chased Indy a couple times but Mom only laughed because he was just having fun, not like before when it sounded like he was going to eat Indy.  Pretty uneventful weekend hanging out with Mom.   Aunt Debbie came over with Jessy this afternoon too.  Baxter did something disrespectful to Jessy so Mom wasn't happy...  I tried to distract her but it didn't work.   Now the fat one is busy tearing the nose off one of the woobies Mom bought us.   The felt eyeball is in the living room along with some stuffing.

Week 3

Monday            It was a really cold night but Mom & Aunt Katherine decided to take us for a walk anyway.  Baxter was weaving from one side of the road to the other, as usual, and he managed to wrap his leash around Aunt K.  Well then things started to unravel....the dogs behind the fence made a comment about him being fat or his mom wearing combat boots and he took off after them...Mom dropped the leash so that Aunt K wouldn't get squeezed and somehow the leash wrapped around my leash and TUBBY dragged BOTH of us to the fence...poor Aunt K ate it when we hit the grass though so Mom was really ticked off.  She told Baxter that unless he straightened up really fast that we were going home!  The fat boy gets us into more trouble!!   The rest of the 5 miles were relatively uneventful....

Tuesday        Girls Night Out....that means we have to wait for our walk until they come home from dinner.  STINKS!  So anyway, they came back and we went for a walk, Aunt Leslie and Gordon stayed home and Aunt Debbie was at work so Jessy couldn't come out and play.  Mom got Baxter a HALTI....ewww, looks like a muzzle and she said it would make him behave better on walks....needless to say he shook it off 3 times before we got out of the house.  After Baxter dragged Mom down the driveway we set off.  The walk was the usual...walk two steps and then sniff etc. so it takes us quite awhile to walk 5 miles that way.  The last 2.5 miles coming home are usually quicker because we've smelled everything already...however it was REALLY cold out tonight and the ducks were sleeping further up on the bank than usual....Baxter decided he wanted Duck for dinner just as we were turning out of the park and onto the street to go home.  Mom went running by us yelling DUCK DUCK DUCK!   So we ducked....then figured out that Mom was telling us that Baxter was going for the ducks and taking her along.  Good thing she was yellin', the ducks figured it out before we did and they took flight.  Baxter stopped at the waters edge and no one got wet.  Mom said some dirty words...in fact....she was still muttering them when we got home!

Wednesday    Mom had a hard day at work and couldn't face being dragged around the lake....see Aunt Katherine was out with Uncle Bob for the next 3 days or so and she'd have to walk both of us.  So we had a nice dinner and then snuggled up and watched a movie.

Thursday        Mom must have had a better day at work because when she came home she was ready to go.  However we had a Family PowWow (whatever that is) before we went on our walk and Mom laid down the ground rules to Lard Butt.  She was NOT going to be dragged down the driveway and if one neighbor was able to snicker then we were going to turn around and go home.  She then said she was not going to be dragged to the fence so that Baxter could argue with the dogs on the corner nor was she going in the lake or chasing ducks.  If we could all agree to those rules THEN we could go for a walk.  BLAH BLAH BLAH yeah we'll promise anything, can we go now!!!!   So off we go and Baxter behaved....!  Mom said it was a nice walk and we ended up doing the entire 5 miles....

Friday         Movie night with Mom and her friend.   He doesn't even mind that we all came up to snuggle with them.  Course we thought the movie was boring so we went to sleep.  Evidently they thought it was cool because they were still talking about it the next morning.

Saturday    WEIGH-IN DAY!!!!   Got to go for a car ride this morning.  I didn't feel like jumping out of the truck right away so Mom took Baxter in first.  She took awhile because Bubba gets so excited and can't sit still on the scale....yeah who's the doofus right?  We she was so happy when she came back out because he'd lost 7 pounds!!    Next it was my turn....I'm much better behaved so it only takes me a couple minutes to settle down on the scale...I lost a half pound.   Mom wasn't quite as excited about that but at least I'm under 100 lbs so Mom will take that....but we're going to be eating green beans for a long time yet...    The cable guy is here today and we're switching from the really SLOW Direcway.com satellite service to high speed cable now that two way has reached us.  WHOO HOOO, now we can upload more pages of us with toys in a shorter amount of time which cuts down on the chance of Mom catching us doing this!
